Importing Product Images

There is 3 ways to import product images in bulk:

  1. Define image URL in product import file

When importing a file of products you can define a URL to download images from per product in your import file. The system will get the images from this specified location and download them to your Neto server. This is ideal if your are importing products and images from a 3rd party website or supplier.

Field Name Field Type Field Description Field Restrictions Notes
Image URL (Main Image) Text String Main product image. Images will be re-sized as per your image re-size settings in admin > system setup > image settings. URL (Supported Tags: USERNAME=Username, MD5PASSWORD=MD5 Encoded Password, SKU=SKU). Image will be downloaded from specified location. Must be fully qualified URL to an image file hosted online. System will download image from here an insert into file system. Use the string DELETE to delete an image.
Image Alt 01 URL to Image Alt 100 URL Text String 1st alternate product image.
  2. Use a zip file to upload photos using the control panel's bulk upload tools.

See our guide on Neto's bulk image import tool for more information.

  3. Upload images to your Neto FTP server

If you have SFTP access to your Neto server then you can upload images directly via SFTP. Uploaded images are resized and optimised automatically by the system.

    1. Name your images exactly the same as the related products SKU.
    2. Upload to the following location on your Neto FTP server
      • Main/Full Images (private/www/temp/imagedrop/full/)
      • Alt 1 to Alt 100 Images (private/www/temp/imagedrop/alt_1/ to private/www/temp/imagedrop/alt_100/)
    3. Once you have uploaded your images to the image drop folder of choice, the system will automatically resize and optimise your images as per your settings in admin > system setup > image settings.

Please Note: Allow some time for images to be processed. Our servers processe around 1,000 large images per hour on average.
