What is a shipping consignment?

A shipping consignment is a unique, bar-coded address label that identifies and article or multiple articles of freight. A single consignment may consist of several articles or “sub consignments”. Each can be printed separately, and appended to items being shipped.

A consignment number will often double as a tracking number, allowing you to track the item during shipping.

Shipping carriers each have their own shipping consignment rules and specifications.

Please Note: Using our Neto Ship, our shipping integration module, Neto can generate carrier approved consignments for the following freight companies:

  • Australia Post eParcel
  • Australian Air Express
  • Allied Express
  • Couriers Please
  • Direct Freight
  • Toll iPec
  • Startrack Express
  • TNT
  • Fastway
  • more
