How do I offer only the lowest cost shipping option to my customers? (routing groups)

Neto’s shipping matrix has the option to offer routing groups - a way to group shipping methods together and show only the cheapest option of that group.

You can group all of your shipping options together and show one low cost or you may want to group the options into categories, for example, standard and express, to offer your customers the cheapest option of several services.

Once setup, only the cheapest option from all the methods in the group will be displayed at check out. Options not in a group will display as normal, provided that they are set to be visible on the site and that the order meets all shipping requirements (item can be shipped by the service, to the location, etc).

  1. To do this from the Neto dashboard, navigate to Setup & Tools > Shipping.

  2. Click on Shipping methods. Here, you can see the the “routing group” column which shows the allocated group of each method. By default, these will all be blank.

  3. To add a routing group, open the method that you want to be grouped.

  4. Enter a group number - any number is fine, but all methods in the group must have the same number. If you do not wish to use routing groups for this method, leave this field blank.

  5. Save changes and repeat for any other methods.

You may also wish to change the sort order of your shipping methods by editing the sort order value against each method. The higher the value entered, the higher up in the list a method will appear by default.
