Editing Menus

Menus are an important part of a website, and Neto web shops are no different. It can be the difference between making a sale or not. Product find-ability is integral to any eCommerce business - if they can't find it, they can't buy it.

Here are few things you should consider when coming up with your first menu, or editing an existing one:

  • Build up your categories and sub categories by keeping your end user in mind. What would you do if you were visiting your website to look for a particular product? Put yourself in the shoes of the user.

  • If it makes sense to put the same sub categories under different Main categories, then do it! If users don't find the category they are after, it's more likely they'll come to the conclusion that your store doesn't stock that particular type of product and look elsewhere than to try and look within a different category.

  • Consider implementing a "What's New" category for all your new stock. It's a great way for your customers to find out what new products are available on your site, and within the industry of your niche.

  • Be consistent with your category naming. Ensure you're using naming conventions that are the industry standard.

These, coupled with great product descriptions and engaging front page design will have your customers coming back again and again.
