How to add a featured product advert

What is a Featured Product Advert?

 

You can use Featured Product Adverts to feature selected products on your website. They can be products on sale, new products or any products you select. You get to choose what products appear.

 

Where the Featured Products Adverts appear depends on the design of your website theme. Most likely you would see them on the homepage, but they can be added to almost any page on your site. Your web designer or our design team can help you to add the featured products to any page.

 

There should already be a demo Featured Product Advert created for your website.

 

Editing an existing Featured Product Advert

 

To edit an existing Featured Product Advert, login to your control panel. Go to:

Marketing menu > On Site Advertising > View All Campaigns

 

You will see what type of advert it is under the Campaign column. You will see a list of Feature Product Ads and also Ad Banners and Ad Units. The last two are discussed in other videos.

 

Select a Featured Product Advert by clicking on the Campaign Name or ID.

 

In the Type and Status section, you can change if the advert is visible  or not on the website by changing the Status to Active or Inactive.

 

Change the Campaign Name or select when the campaign will start and end by changing the Date Start and Date End. Leave the date fields blank if you don’t want the advert to stop displaying at a set date.

 

The Group drop down is used if you have multiple Featured Product Adverts on your site. You can allocate them to different pages on your site. Where they display on your site will depend on the design.

 

You can also allocate this advert to a page, blog post or product category. In the Location section, you can select what pages that advert will appear on. Select a page type from the first drop down menu and then select the page from the second menu. Click on the Add button. You can add multiple pages, post or categories. Click on the red cross to remove a page from the list.

 

The advert will only appear on pages designed to display Featured Product Adverts.

 

Adding a new Featured Product Advert

 

Go to:

Marketing menu > On Site Advertising > View All Campaigns

 

Enter the Campaign Name and if required the Group, Date Start and Date End. Then click on the Save & Continue button.

 

Add the Location and the Products you want to display in the advert. Then click on the Save button to update your changes.

 

Deleting a Featured Product Advert

 

Go to:

Marketing menu > On Site Advertising > View All Campaigns

 

Tick the checkbox (on the left) of the item you want to delete, then click on:

With Selected > Delete

You can select more than one campaign at a time.

 

Managing Campaign Groups

 

Go to:

Marketing menu > On Site Advertising > Campaign Groups

 

Click on the Add New button to create a new group or click on the group name to edit an existing group. Give the group a name. The description is for your reference. Then save the changes.
