About Vend

Vend is point-of-sale, inventory, and customer loyalty software for iPad, Mac & PC. Easily manage and scale your business in the cloud.

Neto integrates directly with Vend through the Vend API. The Neto-Vend integration is managed and supported by Neto.

How does the integration work?


There are a number of options that allow you to configure how the two systems sync product data. For example, you can define on a per product field basis which system is the master (the primary source of data).
You can access these configurations under the ” Advanced Configuration” section of your Vend integration setup page in Neto.

Note: To enable custom configuration, kindly contact Neto customer support team.

If you are primarily an online retailer and offline POS is a secondary sales channel, we would recommend managing the majority of your product related data in Neto. Neto has a number of additional product fields related to selling online.

Inventory / Stock

Neto can import stock numbers (Qty in stock) from Vend. You can turn this option on or off during your integration configuration. Neto will import Qty in stock per outlet. Each outlet will represent a warehouse in Neto.

If a warehouse does not exist in Neto, we will auto generate a new warehouse for you, using the name of the outlet in Vend. If you want to map your outlets in Vend to warehouses that already exist in Neto, enter the outlet name in Vend into the “Location Ref” field of the related warehouse in Neto.

Product Categories

Neto can import product types in Vend as product categories in Neto. This function allows you to create a categorised Neto webshop instantly from your Vend product database.

Component Products / Kitted Products

The Vend API does not support Neto creating component products in Vend (that is a virtual product that is built from inventoried SKUs).

So that you can still use kitting in Neto, you should have component of kit in Vend so that you can record stock etc. against these and sales will be written to these individual SKUs in Vend too.

If you create a component product in Vend, it will be imported into Neto with the SKU breakdown specified in Vend.

If the Vend API supports creating component products in the future, we will support this too.

Product Images

Neto can import the main product image from Vend. You can then add additional images, YouTube videos and other media to products in Neto.

Orders / Invoices

Neto will export orders / invoices to Vend. You can define when this happens during your integration configuration.

You have the option to export invoices:
1. On Approved (when invoiced in Neto)
2. On Dispatched (when completed in Neto)


Neto will export payments to Vend. You can map your Neto payment methods to Vend payment types during your integration configuration.

To do this from the Neto dashboard, navigate to Setup & tools > Payment Methods > Select your payment method > Go to the Accounting section > Accounting Account to map your payment methods.


Neto can import customers from Vend to populate and maintain your Neto customer database.You can turn this option on or off during your integration configuration.

Neto can export customers to Vend each time you make a sale in Neto. Alternatively you can select to export all sales to a single customer in Vend. For example, you may create a customer in Vend called “Website Sales” and export all sales to this customer.

Working with Multiple Outlets / Warehouses

Both Neto and Vend support multiple outlets / warehouses. This allows you to track stock across multiple locations and fulfil orders for multiple locations from a single solution.


In Vend, a warehouse is called an outlet. The outlet name in Vend must match the Location Name in Neto, this will ensure stock is mapped to the correct warehouse in Neto from Vend.

So that sales for a specific warehouse in Neto can be mapped to a specific outlet in Vend, you must add a register to each outlet in Vend. The name of each register must match the “Location ref” field of each warehouse in Neto.

When a sale is made in Neto for warehouse “X” it will be written to register “X” in Vend. Register “X” will be allocated to outlet “X” in Vend.

A single sale / invoice in Vend can only contain lines from one outlet, therefore you cannot have a single invoice in Neto with multiple locations when using this integration. If you do, the first location on an invoice in Neto will be used to define the location to write the sale to in Vend.

Working with different SKU’s and Barcodes

Vend uses its SKU field as its barcode field. There is not currently a separate field for barcodes (as there is in Neto).

On occasion merchants may want to have a different SKU in Neto while keeping the barcode in the SKU field in Vend.

Neto supports this option through the “custom label” field in Neto. If populated, the custom label field in Neto will be used as the SKU in Vend and will be used as the mapping identifier between the two systems.
Alternatively, you can edit your SKU’s in Neto to become unique barcodes (only relevant for existing Neto merchants).

For example: If the SKU in Vend is “123456789101” and the SKU in Neto is “ABC123”, you can populate the custom label in Neto with “123456789101” and the integration will use this to map products and sales correctly between the two systems.

Important: If you are an existing Neto merchant setting up a new Vend integration, you must populate the custom label field in Neto prior to turning on the integration. You can do this in bulk using the import/export system in Neto.

How often is stock updated in Neto from Vend

Stock is updated instantly. When stock numbers change in Vend, they are updated to the related warehouse in Neto. Neto has systems in place to ensure that any allocated sales not yet exported to Vend are taken into account when determining your available stock for sale on your Neto web shop.

How to install Vend integration

  1. From the Neto dashboard, navigate to Addons > Locate Vend > Click Install.
  2. After install it will redirect to accounting page > click on “Add New” button on the top right of screen.
  3. Click “Vend”.
  4. Follow the on-screen install instructions.
